About the Hippies

Born on April 20th, 2024, the Southern Fried Hippies are a four-piece rock band from Galax, VA. We bring a varied collection of musical tastes and influences that anyone can dance and connect with.

Our original songs span genres like funkified rock, reggae, indie, and country. Our selections of covers are just as varied — hitting classics you know and love, as well as B-sides for the pickiest patron.

We've been hard at work bringing our sound to dive bars, music festivals, and theaters across the region. With a main goal of playing good music and having a good time, any crowd will find our good vibes contagious and join along.

Make sure to catch us out grooving!
